Opportunity
The Structural Health Monitoring Market (SHM) is valued at $5Bn and growing at 9% per year driven by a convergence of regulation, asset aging, economics, and digital technology. Within the SHM sector, corrosion of aging concrete reinforced steel is a critical safety issue affecting bridges, roads, water/wastewater/energy infrastructure, dams, tunnels & buildings. Many infrastructure owners lack the funding necessary to replace or upgrade these structures and so real-time monitoring, analytics and cost-effective and timely repairs become the default strategy.
Following the award of a significant Commercialisation Fund, Dr. Sean Bond from TU Dublin will lead a spin-out called Structivate, commercialising his proprietary AI & IoT platform to evaluate and predict the impact of corrosion on critical infrastructure.
Background
Approach
Our role is to act as Commercial Advisors, providing support to the project Team across a range of topics.

Within the first year of the Commercialisation Fund Award, the project Team, led by Dr. Bond has already released V1 of the Structivate system, expanded the Team to include a number industry veterans & AI experts, been invited to present at high impact industry conferences around the world, demonstrated a significant wall of demand for the core technology and significantly, secured a number of highly valuable pilot opportunities in Ireland, the UK & North America through building a network of potential partners and customers across the industry.
